| ...but a closer look shows that the trailer's front pivot point rests on the drawbar beam, ahead of the axle, thus exerting some weight on to the rear of the towing vehicle. I would assume that normally when towing the laden trailer on or off site, the truck is empty and traction would be a problem, but this cleverly puts some of the weight of the digger on to the driving axles and solves this predicament. They may be many of these trailers around, but this is the only one I've seen in this area. |
