Wellington Anniversary Weekend...3

2017 BCI Classmaster in Napier.

2008 Kenworth T404S cruising along the Esplanade in Napier.

'68 Chevrolet Camaro SS 350 on the street.

Also on the street in Napier was this tidy Honda VFR400R from 1986.

In the car park at our hotel was this 2014 Rolls Royce Wraith.
I guess beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but it sure looks like a big, fat, ugly coupe to me.

A few photos I snapped from the top of the Bluff at Napier, with my big lens.

Radiance of the Seas was in port.
2501 passengers and a crew of 655.
We waited on the bluff to see its departure, but it was delayed by over an hour and we gave up.
I suspect the delay was due to strong winds which were blowing directly onto the port side.

I went for a wander around streets near our hotel on Tuesday morning.
The first thing I spotted was this 2016 MAN TGS 35.480 tanker.

Wellington Anniversary Weekend...2

Brand new Zhongtong LCK coach was only registered two days before I took this photo.

We took a cruise on Lake Taupo in a catamaran.
As we were waiting to leave the "Barbary II" sailed by.

Out on the lake, "Barbary" and "Fearless" passed nearby.

Moored for the night were two Cessna U206Gs....

....belonging to Taupos Floatplane.

On the drive to Napier we stopped at Art Deco Valley Cafe and this
1970 Ford Falcon 600 with 351 V8 power arrived shortly after us.

"Game Over" passed by while we were there, heading west.

Heading towards Napier, was this 2009 International 9800.

Upon arriving in Napier we went for a walk.
I spied this 2013 Western Star 4884, heading towards the port.

A '31 Chevy cruising the streets.

LHD Ford Model A tourer suited its all over black paint.

Wellington Anniversary Weekend...1

On Wellington Anniversary weekend we decided to add an extra day and have a couple of nights in Taupo, followed by a night in Napier. Here are the first of a series of photos.
It's not often one sees Ruapehu this clearly from Stormy Point.

A group of six Can-Am Spyders was stopped at Taihape when we stopped for lunch.

I stood in front of our motel in Taupo, with camera, to see what was going past.
I saw this AMC Javelin from a distance, hence the blurry shot.

MGB GT passing....

...and a Fendt tractor !

Nice VW Type 2 camper.
The price of a good one of these is huge now.

Robinson R44 leaves with another load of joy-riders, just north of Taupo.

Big Scania with aerodynamic coach work is only 4 months old.

2014 Kenworth T409 at Taupo.

Nearby was this 2015 Volvo FH with 540hp of the company's 12.8 litre six.

While I was taking photos this Kenworth K200 returned from having a wash.
According to the driver it has been on the road since November 2018 and has already had a replacement engine.

DISAPPEARING PHOTOS

I have delayed putting up my latest posts as I had a problem with photos dropping off some of my older posts. I believe I have now corrected this, but I'll will never be sure unless I check every one of my 579 posts. If you find a post with photos that have dropped off please let me know which post it is.
