Toki Truck Stop Show and Shine.

Last Saturday the annual Toki Truck Stop Show & Shine was held in the grounds of Tui Brewery at Mangatainoka.
Some lightweights:  A 50s Chevy with many mods.

'86 Chevy looks pretty much standard.

'63 International looks like it has much potential.

There were less exhibitors than last year. Only this one entry from Clive Taylor's fleet......

....apart from this miniature of course.

McCarthy's mix of Kenworth and Volvos.

Masterton's McAuley's are always there in force.

My pick of all the trucks there would have to be Menefy's Mack R797 from 1982.

A couple of big KWs from Burlings.

Although not the latest gear, Beale Trucking always impresses....

....with its smart livery....

...and differing badges.

Almost brand new Mercedes Benz Arocs mixes it with older Mack and Western Star

Two well presented Kenworths from Otorohanga.

Eleven year old Argosy tidies up well for the small Bruce Baker fleet.

Wolland Contracting from just down the road at Pahiatua like their Scanias.
Is that John Deere green?

Two Freightliner Argosys in Daily Freight colours, demonstrate the difference
in appearance of the early and later model cabs

Two Mack Granites from the Owen's fleet, almost look like twins despite the 8 years separating them.

Menefy's Volvos.

Menefy's Macks.

PTS trucks are smart....

.....which ever way you look at them.

There was only three of them, but Satherly's Kenworths won the gong for best fleet...

....and very well deserved.

400km Ride.

Did just over 400kms today going to Waipawa and back. Deliberately keeping off the main roads where possible.
Buckeridges fleet, at Dannevirke, is always well presented.
This 700hp Volvo is no exception.

Un-named Kenworth was also in the Buckeridge yard.

Waipawa Buses fleet is a mixture of brands and ages.

Next door to the bus fleet this driver was cleaning his 2017 Western Star 4884FXC.
"70 hours driving and 10 hours cleaning", he claims.

2011 Scania with 730hp and the massive Topline cab was in the same yard.
Passed through Takapau, while keeping off the main roads.
I'm guessing this used to be the local pub.

One of the Akitio fleet based at Matamau.

Prenters Aggregate's fleet, at Dannevirke, appears to consist....
...entirely of Hinos.

Big concrete pump on a Freightliner Argosy was also in Prenters' yard.

My trusting steed turned over 185,000kms today and is still running as sweet as the day I bought her.
