VCC Wanganui (4)

BMC cars of this model range are amongst my favourites. MG Magnettes are the ones I really like, but this is a 1954 Wolseley 4/44.

A Bristol 401 of 1955.

A well prepared 1956 Austin A30 van.

Big and bold and lots of chrome for this 1956 Chrysler Imperial.
You can see where the grille design for the current 300c originated.

the same Imperial; just as big and bold from the rear.

The wheels may not be standard, but with the whitewalls, the chrome and that bright red paint this 1958 Chevrolet Apache looked just right.

This Studebaker Champion Starlight Coupe is from 1950.

Another coupe, but this time from Europe. A 1960 Borgward Isabella.

1961 Alvis sedan.

FB model Vauxhall Victors were common in New Zealand in their day, but....

....not with bucket seats and floor-change. As far as I am aware NZ versions all had bench front seats and 3 speed column gear-ghange.

I am very partial to Rootes Group products of this period and this would probably be my favourite. A 1966 Humber Sceptre MkII. I particularly like the deep, double curvature windscreen. A bit like a Super Minx with a bit of extra styling.
The panel layout with all its guages was also appealing.
